🔟Book 5: Peyton's Pages of Possibility: The Great Apple Orchard Challenge

Peyton and her classmates are headed to the apple orchard for an adventure they won't soon forget!

What begins as an exciting fall field trip quickly turns into a team apple-picking challenge. Peyton and her diverse group of classmates must work together, think creatively, and figure out how to solve problems when things don't go exactly as planned.

Along the way, Peyton discovers that being successful isn't always about being the fastest, the strongest, or the one with the best idea. Sometimes, the most important skills are perseverance, teamwork, communication, flexibility, and problem-solving.

With colorful characters, an engaging orchard adventure, and meaningful lessons woven naturally into the story, The Great Apple Orchard Challenge encourages children to keep trying—even when something feels difficult.

Most importantly, Peyton learns that challenges aren't roadblocks. They are opportunities to think, try, learn, and grow.

What Children Will Discover

🍎 Perseverance — Keep going when something doesn't work the first time.
🍎 Problem-Solving — Think of different ways to approach a challenge.
🍎 Teamwork — Listen to others and work together toward a shared goal.
🍎 Communication — Share ideas and encourage teammates.
🍎 Growth Mindset — Mistakes and setbacks can help us learn.
🍎 Confidence — Believe in yourself and your ability to figure things out.

A Story That Inspires Possibility

Peyton’s Pages of Possibility: The Great Apple Orchard Challenge is more than an apple-picking adventure. It is an invitation for children to discover that they are capable of doing hard things.

Whether read independently, shared as a classroom read-aloud, or used as a springboard for conversations about teamwork and problem-solving, this story gives young readers an opportunity to see themselves as thinkers, problem-solvers, teammates, and learners.

Because every challenge has a possibility waiting inside it.

1️⃣1️⃣ Chapter Book 6: Peyton's Pages of Purr-fect Possibility & Bonus Activity Book: Peyton & Chance's Guide to Helping Our Community

In Chapter Book 6 of the Peyton’s Pages of Possibility series, Peyton and her beloved cat, Chance, discover that helping others doesn’t always require something big. Sometimes, making a difference begins with something as simple as picking up a piece of litter, donating a book, helping a neighbor, conserving water, thanking a community helper, or finding a way to make someone feel cared for.

But this book is more than a chapter book—it’s two books in one!

First, readers will join Peyton and Chance on an inspiring adventure as Peyton learns that being a good community member means noticing what others need and taking action. Along the way, she discovers that kindness, responsibility, teamwork, empathy, and perseverance can turn ordinary moments into opportunities to make a difference.

Then the adventure continues with Peyton & Chance’s Guide to Helping the Community, a special bonus section filled with 20 kid-friendly community-helping missions designed for children ages 6–10. Each mission encourages young readers to step away from the pages and put kindness into action in their own homes, schools, neighborhoods, and communities.

From helping others and caring for the environment to showing gratitude and spreading kindness, children will discover that they don't have to be grown-ups to make a difference.

1️⃣2️⃣Chapter Book 7: Peyton's Pages of Possibility: The Halloween Helping Challenge

Peyton loves Halloween.

She loves pumpkins, colorful leaves, cozy sweaters, spooky stories, and all the excitement that comes with October. So when Mrs. Kennedy announces a Halloween Helping Challenge, Peyton immediately creates a BIG plan to help her community.

But Peyton soon discovers that things don't always go according to plan.

Her decorations fall apart. A special pumpkin disappears. Rain threatens the class event. And then Peyton learns something she hadn't considered before:

Not everyone celebrates Halloween.

When her classmate explains that he doesn't celebrate Halloween, Peyton begins to see her community from a different point of view. She learns that people have different traditions, beliefs, experiences, and ways of celebrating—or not celebrating—and that those differences deserve respect.

As Peyton works with her classmates to create a helping project that everyone can participate in, she discovers that being a good problem-solver isn't just about changing a plan.

It's also about being willing to listen, show empathy, respect differences, and make room for everyone.

1️⃣3️⃣ Chapter Book 8: Peyton's Pages of Possibility: The Power to Stand Up

Peyton is growing up—and in third grade, she's discovering that some of life's most important lessons aren't found in a textbook.

It's November, and Mrs. Kennedy's class is learning about bullying, empathy, inclusion, and the courage to stand up for others. When Peyton notices a classmate being repeatedly teased and excluded, she isn't sure what to do. Is telling an adult tattling? Should she stay out of it if it isn't happening to her? And what does it really mean to be brave?

Through classroom discussions, role-playing, the powerful Crumpled Paper Activity, family conversations, and real-life social situations, Peyton learns to distinguish between rude behavior, mean behavior, and bullying. She discovers the difference between tattling and reporting, learns how bystanders can become upstanders, and practices safe, respectful ways to respond when someone is being hurt.

Most importantly, Peyton discovers that standing up doesn't always mean confronting someone. Sometimes it means saying, "That's not okay." Sometimes it means getting a trusted adult. Sometimes it means refusing to laugh or join in. And sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply say:

"Come sit with us."

Themes

  • Recognizing bullying behavior
  • Understanding rude vs. mean vs. bullying behavior
  • Tattling vs. reporting
  • Being an upstander
  • Safe ways to respond to bullying

  • Friendship and belonging
  • Courage and self-advocacy

Recommended for ages 6-10 | Grades 1-4

1️⃣4️⃣Chapter Book 9 Peyton's Pages of Possibility: The December Possibility Project

Peyton Carter is back in third grade—and December is about to teach her a lesson she won't forget.

Peyton loves December. She loves the excitement, the decorations, the traditions, and making her wish list.

But when Mrs. Kennedy introduces the class to The December Possibility Project, Peyton begins looking at the season in a different way.

Instead of focusing only on what she wants, Peyton learns to notice, listen, and respond to the people around her.

As Peyton encounters classmates who are experiencing December differently, she discovers that kindness doesn't always mean giving someone a present or solving a problem. Sometimes kindness means listening. Sometimes it means respecting differences. Sometimes it means simply being there.

And when Peyton makes a mistake while trying to help someone, she learns an equally important lesson: good intentions don't always mean we get things right—but we can always listen, apologize, learn, and try again.

With her beloved cat Chance providing plenty of laughs along the way, Peyton discovers that the 20 Missions she completed during her earlier community adventure were never really finished. The lessons she learned have become part of who she is.
